Moro Fighting Barong Sword

  • Dated: 19th century
  • Culture: Filipino
  • Place of Origin: Southern Philippines
  • Medium: steel, wood, silver
  • Measurements: 22 1/2” Overall - 16 1/2” Blade

The sword features a simple small detail, but comes with an unbroken wood handle that has the original twine wrapping for better grip while fighting. The collar is made of silver. The well forged blade has a very nice pattern and a hardened edge. The original scabbard is simple, but intact. Reportedly collected by a missionary and brought back to Texas in 1903.
